  • 2006 · Powertrain and transmission108000 mi

I entered and started vehicle as i have done many times before. Put lever in reverse and it jumps back to park; put it in drive, it jumps back to park. Tried several times and same situation as described. Vehicle displays control module and transmission fault.

  • 2007 · Brakes40000 mi

Bmw refuses to accomplish brake recall 10v446000. Stated campaign accomplished previously (several years ago) with another owner but very intermittent brake fail issue still remains, extreme hazard. Obviously wasn't preformed properly or issue still exists.

  • 2008 · Electrical system110000 mi

I have driver seat belt restraint system light on on driver side. Was there a recall to fix this from happening also a parasistic draw draining my battery then car dies. No start.

How to read this page

Every figure comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public complaint database, which holds every safety-related defect complaint filed by owners since 1995. We refresh it monthly and count each complaint once per component it names. Data through September 6, 2026.

NHTSA only accepts safety-related complaints. Rattles, paint, infotainment bugs and other annoyances are under-reported here, so this page is a map of what fails in ways owners consider dangerous, not a full reliability score.

Counts are raw. Use the year-over-year shape and the component mix, not the absolute numbers. Where a component maps to parts we stock, the row links to that category filtered to the year you are viewing. Air bag and seat belt complaints link to the recall checker instead, because those repairs are almost always covered.
